Frequently Asked Questions

Orders
Everything is possible—size, wood type or surface treatment—when taking into account the physical properties of the chosen wood.
This depends on our order situation and the chosen surface treatments. The time until the order is ready varies from 1 week to 4 weeks. The production of orders involving special drying will take more time.
Yes, we use our own truck for nearby deliveries and other transportation solutions for long distances.
Skirtings
- Dark-coloured skirtings reduce the space in the room, if the floor and the ceiling are dark.
- If the ceiling is high, it is better to choose colour different to that of the wall.
- The space is also reduced if the skirting and the floor have the same colour.
- It is better to use the same colour/material as the floor, if the room is high.
Yes, such a groove can be made in all our skirting models, with due consideration for skirting thickness.
The skirting models we have normally in stock have a maximum thickness of 32 mm. Another option is to make combined use of the skirting and the strip holding the carpet.
Any thick or grooved skirting can be joined to the architrave using a corner piece. Our range of corner pieces can be found here
corner piece
A piece needs to be sawn off the end of the skirting at an angle of 45°. Then another piece of skirting is also sawn off at an angle of 45°, but this time in the opposite direction. Then, as shown in the diagram, the small piece thus obtained is joined to the skirting from which the piece was sawn off earlier. The red colour depicts the reverse side of the skirting and the grey depicts the sawing point.
Cornice mouldings
We have two widths: 1: width and length, 2: wall or roof area covered by the cornice moulding.

Example:
Cornice moulding dimensions
When sawing the cornice mouldings at an angle, you need to remember to place the cornice moulding at exactly the angle that it will be mounted on the ceiling, because otherwise the seam will not be neat.
Window and door products
The rebate measures 12x42mm.
We only sell window frame materials... we do not sell pre-assembled windows.
Our oak threshold lengths range from 0.7m to 3.0m.
No, we sell them untreated.
Bannisters
For 34x84 bannisters, the spacing is 52mm, and for 34x115 bannisters it is 92mm.
Our bannisters can also be used outdoors, but meticulous surface treatment is recommended.
L-mouldings
The mouldings rebate dimension is 15mm. L-mouldings 21x21, 21x32, 21x42, 21x58, and 21x70 are also suitable for mounting over 15mm panels.
Panel overlay mouldings and L-mouldings are commonly used for framing purposes.
The inside measurements are as follows:

21x21 - 15x15
21x58 - 15x48
21x70 - 15x60
21x42 - 15x32
33x33 - 27x27
44x44 - 38x38
Floor boards
Bevelled-edged floors do not need sanding after mounting. The end tongue-and-groove tolerance is 0.3mm and floor irregularities cannot be felt nor are they visible. Sharp-edged floors need to be sanded after mounting.
Yes, all our floor boards are provided with end-matched tongue-and-groove.
End-matched tongue-and-groove makes mounting easier and faster. If the floorboards rest on joists, end-matched tongue-and-groove enables joints to be located as shown in the diagram instead of needing to be directly above the joists. End-matched tongue-and-groove means that the ends of floor boards are tongue-and-grooved.
Floors can be treated with oil wax or varnish. We recommend Osmo Color oil wax or Le Tonkinois varnish. The colour and glossiness are selected together with the customer.

Yes, 200+ mm wide white oak and rustic oak floor boards.
Our stock of floor boards is comprised of boards of varying length due to cross-cutting to eliminate defects.
Heat-treatment has the effect of minimising the moisture-induced expansion and contraction of wood, and so crack formation is next to nothing.
No. All knots in the wood surface are treated with wood-coloured filler and surface treatment on the filler works just like in other parts of the floor.
Dust needs to be vacuumed or swept away. Floors treated with Osmo Color oil wax can be washed using water or by using specific cleaning substances. Varnished floors need to be looked after using specified substances.
Sauna
Glued materials are good as then really wide pieces of wood are more stable. We use melamine urea phenol resin, and glueing is done at a temperature of over 100 degrees Celsius.
No. Gluing and thermo-treatment make the wood harder, like hardwood.
We recommend paraffin oil. It is a non-toxic, odourless, colourless, and non-allergic natural substance. It suits all woods. Paraffin oil highlights the colour of wood, making it appear slightly darker.
Panels
They usually vary between 1.8-5.1m in length. Panels come in bundles of six pieces of the same length.
The lengths of panels planed from finger-jointed raw material are 4.8m and 5.1m.
Yes. Most of our panel types are provided with concealed-nailing tongue-and-groove, but panels 145 mm in width or wider should be nailed in the normal manner.
Panels with end-matching tongue-and-groove can have their joints anywhere, and this means less waste.
Panels with end-matching tongue-and-groove usually have a waste percentage of 5-10%, panels without this have a waste percentage of 15-20%.
Panel coverage is shown here on line 3 below each panel image.
